YBCO (yttrium barium copper oxide) coated conductor carries very high current density in strong background fields at liquid-nitrogen temperatures, which is what makes compact high-field magnets practical. We supply coated conductor tape in production quantities with lot-level critical-current data, so magnet designers can wind with known margins instead of estimates.
