Every refrigerator, freezer and air conditioner on the planet depends on permanent magnets. Roughly 200 million refrigerators and 120 million air conditioners are built each year, and each inverter compressor carries 50–100 grams of neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) in its brushless DC motor rotor. Add the ferrite gasket magnets in the door seals, and the cold chain is magnet-critical at almost every stage of assembly.
That is precisely the problem for a US or allied manufacturer: about 90% of the world's sintered NdFeB comes out of China. A compressor line is only as resilient as its magnet supplier, and a single disrupted shipment from the Yangtze delta stops a whole plant. We supply refrigeration-grade magnets and rare earths from allied, non-Chinese sources — so your bill of materials carries no single-point-of-failure exposure.
Inverter compressors run hot and demand coercivity headroom. We supply SH and EH series NdFeB formulated for demagnetization resistance at elevated operating temperature, with dysprosium and terbium additions selected to hold flux under overload — the same grades specified by leading compressor OEMs. Magnetizing to specification, tight dimensional tolerances and lot-level coercivity data are standard, so your motor design can assume known worst-case demagnetization rather than a guess.
Low-cost ferrite strips and extruded profiles keep fridge doors sealed and gasketless-design airtight. We supply anisotropic ferrite in the widths and strip patterns your seal line uses, with consistent pull-force per meter and hard-edge magnetization.
The F-gas phase-down (EU F-Gas regulation, US AIM Act) is pushing the industry toward solid-state magnetocaloric refrigeration. Gadolinium, La-Fe-Si and related alloys do the cooling with no refrigerant at all — but they still need a strong NdFeB field source and high-purity rare earths.
